National Novel Writing Month starts in November, obviously. The goal is to write 50 000 words in 30 days. I won last year by starting a scene every time I sat down to write.

This year, my goal is to write a 50 000 word novel that starts at the beginning and continues on in a linear fashion. Last year was too confusing. This year, I’ll win becuase I’ll write a novel that makes sense.

I’m also going to be one of two new co-ML’s for the Calgary area this year. Our last one moved to Saskatchewan. So we’ll see what I’ve got. I’m hoping to do fine and stay on top of the word count. I honestly dont know how Janna did it all those years! She’s just … super!

Facebook.

People love to hate it. They despise it, yet they continue to go back to it? Including me.

Why?

I’ve had my account for just over three years. And that means applications upon applications that have piled up and have cluttered up my account, making it ugly to sift through. I did try to do it manually to delete some, but it was tedious and time consuming, not to mention, I kept getting those annoying notifications ‘Come play Scrabble’. O.o

So. I did the best thing. I deactivated my account. Then spent two long and tedious hours setting up a new account and adding all my friends back.  This was a few days ago. All throughout today, facebook was giving me issues. I couldn’t seem to refresh as six notifications kept coming back over and over again. Also, my ‘friend requested’ and ‘Vampire Wars Gift’ along with others refused to disappear no matter how many times I clicked on the link. The chat function was non-existant. It left me feeling hollow, cold… alone.

So, thinking that I had a brilliant though, I logged out and logged back in.

Only to find myself gobsmacked. Instead of the new account I had created merely three days ago, the old account had reactivated itself. I stared in absolute horror at all the applications that had mysteriously reappeared. Haunting me. Mocking me.

I’m wondering if I should just boycott facebook entirely. :(

Hello and welcome to my corner of the world!

Not only will I use this particular blog about current events in my life, but I’ll be using it to share this years National Novel Writing Month that is hosted every November. You write 50, 000 words in 30 days. I’ve done this for six years and last year was my first year that I ‘won’! What did I win? Why, the satisfaction of writing 50 000 words in 30 days.

I’m waiting for the appropriate time to unveil something very exciting that will happen in this year’s NaNo for me. Trust me, it’s exciting!!!! :)

I am doing a remake of a novel this year. It’s actually based on a dream I had many years ago. What is it? A girl, who can morph into a seal, falls in love with a whale, who can morph into a boy. Think Lady Hawke, where the lovers can only see each other in human form for a few moments. I’m very excited to write about it this year. I’m determined to win again this year!!!
